34 System Management Commands

reload

This command restarts the system.

Note: When the system is restarted, it will always run the Power-On Self-Test. It will also retain all configuration information stored in non-volatile memory by the copy running-configstartup-configcommand.

This command resets the entire system.

Example

This example shows how to reset the switch:

Console#reload

System will be restarted, continue <y/n>? y

switch renumber

This command resets the switch unit identification numbers in the stack. All stack members are numbered sequentially starting from the top unit for a non-loop stack, or starting from the Master unit for a looped stack.

Note: This switch does not support stacking.

Syntax

switch all renumber

Default Setting

For non-loop stacking, the top unit is unit 1.

For loop stacking, the master unit is unit 1.
