Network Interface Error Type

The asterisk (*) above an item indicates the type of errors detected. The error types are the following:

CRC CRC-6 bit errors based on the FDL. This is valid only in ESF mode.

BPV Bipolar violations. XS0 Excess zeros. FER Framing errors.

Active Alarms

This menu item displays a list of current alarms reported by either the base controller or any of the ports. If no alarms are current, using this menu item displays End of List.

This display includes two lines of text. The top line is the alarm source. The bottom line is the alarm mes- sage. A list of alarm messages is found in the appen- dix, TSU 600 System Messages.

With the cursor on Main menu item 1)STATUS, activate the menu with Enter or number 1. The unit displays the first two Status submenu items with the cursor on

1)NI PERF RPTS.

With the arrows or number 3, select 3)Alarms. Activate the selection with Enter or number 3. The unit begins the display of alarm messages and their identified source. See Figure 3-11. Continue with standard operating procedures to exit the display.
