Safety Considerations

Agilent has designed and tested the N9340A handheld spectrum analyzer for Measurement, Control and Laboratory Use in accordance with Safety Requirements IEC 61010- 1: 2001,

UL 61010- 1 (2004), and CSA C22.2 No.61010- 1- 04. The tester is supplied in a safe condition. The N9340A is also designed for use in Installation Category II and Pollution Degree 2 per IEC 61010 and IEC 60664 respectively.

Read the following safety notices carefully before you start to use a N9340A handheld spectrum analyzer to ensure safe operation and to maintain the product in a safe condition.

WA R N I N G Personal injury may result if the analyzer’s cover is removed. There are no operator-serviceable parts inside. Always contact Agilent qualified personnel for service. Disconnect the product from all voltage sources while it is being opened.

WA R N I N G This product is a Safety Class I analyzer. The main plug should be inserted in a power socket outlet only if provided with a protective earth contact. Any interruption of the protective conductor inside or outside of the product is likely to make the product dangerous. Intentional interruption is prohibited.

WA R N I N G Electrical shock may result when cleaning the analyzer with the power supply connected. Do not attempt to clean internally. Use a dry soft cloth to clean the outside

case only.

WA R N I N G Always use the three-pin AC power cord supplied with this product. Failure to ensure adequate earth grounding by not using this cord may cause personal injury and product damage.
