Chapter Rack-Mounting the MGX 8220 Units
The equipment should be mounted in the rack to prevent any hazardous condition due to uneven
mechanical loading.
Cooling Configuration Guidelines
To ensure that the MGX 8220 switch gets proper ventilation and is cooled properly, you must adhere to
the following cooling configur at io n guidelines:
•You must never have more than four (4) s h elve s installed between the a ir in let and the air exhaust.
•The main cooling module by itself can only push enough air to cool one or two shelves.
•If you are using three or four shelves , you mu st insta ll a boos ter co oling mo dule be tween th e second
and third shelves.
•The inlet and exhaust areas must be unrestricted . Re strictive doors over the front or the rear of the
unit are not allowed.
