Step 8 For all SMs
a. Enter the resetcd command. This command resets the card.
b. Enter the dspadrxlat command to ensure that the number of connections is correct.
Step 9 For all SMs, enter the dsptotals command.
Use this step to examine the number of lines, p or t s, an d ch an n els af t er the upgr ad e o r downgr ad e. Th e
values can be compared to those b ef or e t h e d ownlo ad a nd, therefore, it can be establ is h ed th at th e
configuration has remained the same. Restore the ASC and SM configurations if necessary.
Procedure 17Graceful Upgrade, 1-Core Card Set (SM only)
Procedure 17 is use d f o r 1. 3.x to 3.y.
Step 1 Save the current ASC configuration. Perform this step for the ASC prior to upgrading the firmware.
First reset the card, then u se T FTP get to save the cards current configuration in the workstation.

Step 2 Save the current service module (SM) co nfiguration for each primary and stand- alone SM. Perform this
step for the SM prior to upgrading the firmware.
First reset the card, then u se T FTP get to save the cards current configuration in the workstation.

tftp> get AXIS_SM_1_<slot>.PRI.<service password>
Step 3 For all primary and stand-alone SMs, enter the dsptotals command.

configuration parameters after t he u pg rad e o r dow n grad e and, therefore, it can be establis h ed t ha t t he
configuration has remained the same.
Step 4 For all SMs, set the start and en d ad dresses in Flash memory wher e th e fir mw ar e fi le w ill b e wr it ten.
a. Enter the flashStartAddr and flashEndAddr commands to start the Flash memo r y file at
Oxbfc00000 and end it at 0xbfc40000

b. Enter the tftp put <SM_BT_file> AXIS_SM_1_$slot.FW command.
c. Enter the chkflash command. This command ca lculates and compares the Flash ch ecksum to verify
whether the boot code is correct.
d. Enter the version command. This command displays the version of the boot code currently stored
in Flash memory. This ste p dow nloads new firmware int o th e ASC.
