3.Select the SMP Expansion Module you want memory mirroring enabled on and press the right arrow key to change the value to Enabled.

Tip: In a server with two SMP Expansion Modules installed, it is possible to enable memory mirroring in only one SMP Expansion Module; however, we do not recommend this configuration.

4.Exit the System Configuration Utility and save any changes.

5.Once memory mirroring is enabled, you will the following message during POST:

Active Memory(tm) Mirroring enabled on CEC1

4.1.3Enabling Hyper-Threading

Hyper-Threading technology allows a single processor to execute two separate instruction threads concurrently, effectively operating as two separate logical processors. The installed operating system sees these logical processors as two separate physical processors. This is demonstrated in Figure 4-8 on page 118.

There are a number of important factors to consider before enabling Hyper-Threading. These considerations are discussed in detail in 3.5, “Operating system considerations” on page 90. It is important to fully understand the
