Consider the following information when you use the IBM ServeRAID Configuration Utility program or ServeRAID Manager to configure and manage arrays:
vThe
vServers that come with twelve
vThe integrated
vWhen you configure the 12 hard disk drives, you may configure the first eight drives into an array that is attached to the
vHard disk drive capacities affect how you create arrays. The drives in an array can have different capacities, but the ServeRAID controllers treat them as if they all have the capacity of the smallest hard disk drive.
vTo help ensure signal quality, do not use drives with different speeds and data rates.
vDo not include SAS and SATA drives in the same array.
vTo update the firmware and BIOS code for an optional ServeRAID controller or controllers, you must use the IBM ServeRAID Support CD that comes with the ServeRAID option.
