arp

Description

This command displays, deletes, or adds entries in the ARP cache.

Command Types

shell and winslc

Formats

For the shell:

arp -a[ ip_address ] arp -dip_address

arp -sip_address mac_address

For the winslc command:

winslc baseport arp -a[ ip_address ] winslc baseport arp -dip_address

winslc baseport arp -sip_address mac_address

Parameters

-a	Displays all entries in the ARP cache table or just the ip_address
	entry.
ip_address	Defines the IP address of the destination device in dotted decimal
	format.
-d	Deletes an entry from the ARP cache table.
-s	Adds a permanent entry to the ARP cache for the current session.
	Permanent entries must be in the same subnetwork as the IP
	address of the destination device.
mac_address	Defines the MAC address of the destination device.
baseport	Defines the baseport number for AI232.
