Updating From the PC Card

1Install the firmware on your computer.

2Insert a PC Card into the card reader on your computer. Refer to “Using the Card Reader” on page 14-4.

3On your computer, copy the firmware file (dcs6xx.bin) to the cards root directory.

IMPORTANT:

Place the firmware file in the root directory. It will not work if placed in a folder.

4Insert the card in your camera. Refer to “Inserting/Removing PC Cards” on page 5-3.

5Select the Menu icon, then choose Main Menu from the dropdown menu (page 2-14).

6Select Firmware from the Main menu.

7 The Firmware screen appears.

8 Select Version or Update from card.

If you choose Version, the version number of the camera firmware appears.

If you choose Update from card, a second screen appears.

9 Choose OK or Cancel.

If you choose Cancel, the firmware will not be updated.

The process takes approximately 15 seconds.
