Battery Conservation

Your camera has several built-in functions that minimize drain on your battery.

PowerSave Mode

If your camera is powered by an AC adapter or is connected to a computer with IEEE 1394 cable, it will not enter PowerSave mode.

If you don’t use your camera for 30 minutes, it will enter PowerSave mode (go to sleep). In PowerSave mode, the flash will not be kept charged and the backlight for the Top Status and Back Status LCD panels will turn off.

You can change the setting for PowerSave time. Refer to “Setting PowerSave Time” on page 4-3.
