Navigate Switch

The Navigate switch is a four-way rocker switch located on the back of the camera. It is accessible whether you are holding the camera horizontally or vertically.

Using the Navigate switch to Navigate the Image LCD Panel

The Navigate switch operates in the following manner when you use it with the Display or Selector buttons (described on the next page):

Navigate through images displayed on the Image LCD panel by pressing and holding the Selector button and pressing the top, bottom, right, or left side of the switch. Refer to “Image LCD Panel” on page 2-12.

Navigate up or down through vertically arranged menu options by pressing and holding the Selector button and pressing the top or the bottom of the switch.

Navigate across the menu bar or through horizontally arranged menu options by pressing and holding the Display button and pressing the right or left side of the switch.

Using the Navigate switch to Select the Focus Area

When you use the Navigate switch without the Display or Selector buttons, you can select the desired focus area. Refer to “Selecting the Focus Area” on page 9-1.

If you select Dynamic AF’s primary sensor or the single AF sensor, you can prevent accidental change by using the Navigate switch with the Focus Area Lock button.
