Part of analog signal being clipped off

1.Increase input level gain setting on remote voice/fax channel a couple db and recheck voice quality (see Table 7-11).

1.Decrease output level attentuation setting on local voice/fax channel a couple of db and recheck voice quality (see Table 7-11).

1.Verify that devices are attached to voice/fax channel FXS RJ-11 connector.

1.Verify that local and remote interface types are configured correctly (see Table 7-11).

2.Obsereve that the XSG LED on the local voice/fax channel lights when the telephone goes off-hook and that the RSG LED on the remote FXS- configured voice/fax channel flashes with each ring.

1.Decrease voice/fax channel digitizing rate to 9600 bos (see Table 7-11).

2.Enable or, if active, increase silence suppression on voice/ fax channel (see Table 7-11)

1.Verify that the device is attached to the correct voice/ fax channel RJ-11 connector.

1.Verify that local voice/fax interface type is configured for FXS and remote interface type is set for FXO operation (see Table 7-11).

1.Lower the input level gain and the output level attentuation a couple of db and recheck voice quality (see Table 7-11).
