Setting the recording paper
type

{1} “Plain Paper” (default): 75 g/m2 to 90 g/m2 (20 lb to 24 lb) paper.
{2} “Thin Paper”: 64 g/m2 to 75 g/m2 (17 lb to 20 lb) paper.
{3} “Thick Paper”: 90 g/m2 to 165 g/m2 (24 lb to 44 lb) paper.
Note:
LThis setting is valid for both the standard input tray and the lower input tray.
L“Thick Paper” will not be displayed if any of the paper input tray settings
are changed to “#2” or “#1+#2”:
– fax (feature #440 on page 64).
– copy (feature #460 on page 67).

– scan to email print feature (feature #565 on page 74).
Setting the paper input tray to
use for lists and reports
printing

This feature will be displayed only when the lower input tray is installed (page
79).
{1} “#1” (default): Standard input tray
{2} “#2”: Lower input tray
{3} “#1+#2”
Note:
LTo select “#2”, select “Plain Paper” or “Thin Paper” for the recording
paper type setting (feature #383 on page 60).
LTo select “#1+#2”,
– select the same paper size for the standard input tray (feature #380 on
page 59) and lower input tray (feature #382 on page 59). If either is
changed, “#1” will be selected automatically.
–select “Plain Paper” or “Thin Paper” for the recording paper type
setting (feature #383 on page 60).
Setting the waiting time for
the power save mode

To set the length of time before the unit enters power save mode.
{1} “5min”: 5 minutes
{2} “15min” (default): 15 minutes
{3} “30min”: 30 minutes
{4} “1h”: 1 hour
Note:
LWhen in power save mode, the unit needs to preheat the fuser unit before
it can begin printing.
Holding the previous contrast
setting

{0} “Disabled” (default): Deactivates this feature.
{1} “Enabled”: The unit will hold the previous setting.
Note:
LThe previous setting will be held individually for copying and sending faxes.
Setting the default operation
mode
{#}{4}{6}{3}
To select the default operation mode when the selected time of the mode timer
(feature #464) passes.
{1} “Copy” (default): Copy mode is selected as default.
{2} “Fax”: Fax mode is selected as default.
Note:
LYou cannot select the scan mode using this feature.
Setting the default operation

To set the timer before returning to the default operation mode (feature #463).
{0} “Off”: Deactivates this feature.
{1} “30s”: 30 seconds
{2} “1min” (default): 1 minute
{3} “2min”: 2 minutes
