Fax – receiving

Problem	Cause & Remedy
I cannot receive documents.	● The telephone line cord is connected to the EXT jack on
	the unit. Connect to the LINE jack (p. 18).
I cannot receive documents	● The receive mode is set to the TEL mode. Set to the FAX
automatically.	ONLY or TEL/FAX mode.
	● The time taken to answer the call is too long. Decrease
	the number of rings (p. 44, 51).
The display shows	● The incoming call is not a fax. Change the receive mode
“CONNECTING.....” but faxes are	to the TEL mode.
not received.
The recording image is faint.	● The sender transmitted a faint document. Ask them to
	transmit a clearer copy of the document.
	● The thermal head is dirty. Clean it (p. 63).
The received document is blank.	● The recording paper roll is installed incorrectly. Make sure
	that the shiny side of the paper is facing down and
	re-install the paper (p. 17).
