P ± Pulse Dial

Sets the modem for Pulse Dial mode. See D command.

Qn ± Result Codes

Result codes are informational messages (such as Connect and Ring) sent from the modem and displayed on the asynchronous DTE terminal. Refer to Table B-1for a list of result codes.

Q, Q0 Enables modem to send result codes to the DTE.

Q1 Disables modem from sending result codes to the DTE.

Q2 Enables in Originate mode only for modem to send result codes to the DTE. Required for most UNIX applications.

Sn =r ± Change S-Register

Changes the contents of an S-register, where n is the S-register, and r is the new value.

Sn? ± Display S-Register

Displays the value of an S-register, where n is the S-register number.

T ± Tone Dial

Sets the modem for Tone (DTMF) dial mode. See D command.

Vn ± Result Codes Format

Controls whether or not result codes appear as words or as numeric codes. Some DTEs do not recognize result codes as words; therefore, numbers are required. The Numbers (2) format is required for some modem pooling applications. Refer to Table B-1for a list of result codes.

V, V0

Displays result codes in Number (1) format (digits).

V1

Displays result codes as text.

V2

Displays result codes in Number (2) format (digits).
