Using Routers to Route DSU Management Data

In this example, the DSUs:

HReceive their management data through the Management port connection to the AUX port of the router.

HDo not route the data among themselves. Routers route management data for the connected DSUs using the management data path between the routers.

The illustration shows each DSU with its own subnet. This subnet is independent of the subnet on the LAN, which is supported by the local router. This enables the router to distinguish the data destined for the DSU from the data for the LAN.
