1.2.7 Accessing Another Party Directly from Outside (Direct Inward System Access [DISA])

To call an extension

When an outside caller dials a specified telephone
number of the PBX, a prerecorded Direct Inward
System Access (DISA) outgoing message (OGM)
can greet the caller and give information about how
to access an extension. The operator does not
need to be involved. If there is no recorded
message, the caller will hear a short beep instead
of the DISA OGM.
The caller may also be able to access system
features or call an outside party by using the
caller's password (DISA security code), depending
on the security mode. Ask your manager about the
mode assigned to your PBX.
