INTERFERENCE DURING TRAINING
ElectromagneticInterferenceand Training Equipment
Disturbancemay occur nearelectrical devices. Also WLAN basestations may cause interferencewhen train-
ingwith the training device. To avoid erraticreading ormis behavior, move away from possible sources of dis-
turbance.
Trainingequipmentwith electronic or electrical componentssuch as LED displays, motors and electrical
brakesmay cause interferingst ray signals. To solve these problems, try t hefollowing:
1. Remove the heart ratesensor strap from your chest and use the trainingequipmentas youwouldnor-
mally.
2. Move the trainingdevice around until you find anarea in which it displays no st rayreading or doesnot
flashthe heart symbol. Interferenceis oftenworst directly in front of the display panel of the equipment,
whilethe left or right side of the display is relatively free of disturbance.
3. Put the heart rate sensors trapback on your chest and keep the trainingdevice in this interference-free
areaas muchas possible.
If the trainingdevice still does not work wi th the trainingequipment, it may be electrically too noisy for wire-
lessheart rate measurement.For further information,www .polar.com/support.
