Password Settings

System Configuration

Parameter

Description

 

 

Enable Active Directory

Specify whether to enable Active Directory functionality for this system.

 

 

Active Directory Address

Set the IP address or domain name of the Active Directory server to be

 

integrated.

 

Note: If you set a domain name, make sure you have already set a DNS

 

server address that can resolve this domain name in Configuration > IP

 

Settings.

 

 

Active Directory Port

Specify the port number for the Active Directory, the default value is 636.

 

 

Active Directory User

Set the user name that will be used by the Polycom Capture Server system to

 

access resources on the Active Directory server.

 

 

Active Directory Password

Set the user password that will be used by the Polycom Capture Server

 

system to access resources on the Active Directory server.

 

 

Active Directory Base DN

Can be used to restrict the Capture Server system to work with a subset of

 

the Active Directory (such as one tree of multiple trees, a subtree, or a

 

domain). Leave the default setting, All Domains, initially.

 

 

Enable SSL Connection

Specify whether to enable SSL encryption for the communication between

 

the RealPresence Capture Server system and the AD server.

 

 

Synchronize AD Time Point

Specify when to synchronize AD data on a daily basis.

 

 

Test

Test whether the Active Directory server is reachable.

When the RealPresence Capture Server system is connected to the Active Directory server, Active Directory Status on the page displays Connected.

If the system is configured with an Active Directory server, users defined on the Active Directory can log in to the Polycom RealPresence Capture Server system as ordinary users. When logging in to the Polycom RealPresence Capture Server system’s Admin Portal using an existing domain user, the user gets only ordinary user permissions.
