Entering an Authentication Passkey for a Destination Device

The authentication passkey is a code used to authenticate two devices connecting using the Bluetooth® function.

If the passkey is set on the destination device, a message appears when connecting to that device. Follow the procedure below to enter the passkey.

1 Press the MENU/OK button.

• The keyboard screen appears.

2 Use the keyboard to enter the passkey set on the destination device.

For information on how to use the keyboard, see P.163.

To set the passkey on the destination

device, see the documentation that came with the destination device.

You have 30 seconds to enter the passkey. If you do not enter the passkey within the allotted time, an error message appears. Press the MENU/OK button and start again from steps before entering the passkey.

If you enter the incorrect passkey, an error message appears. Press the MENU/OK button and start again from steps before entering the passkey.

3 Press the MENU/OK button.

• The destination device is connected and the transfer of images begins.

Note ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You do not need to enter a passkey to connect to authenticated devices for which you have entered a passkey in the past.

The maximum size of the passkey that can be entered with this camera is 16 alphanumeric characters.

You can set the authentication passkey for a destination device on the camera beforehand so the camera can automatically authenticate the device without the need to enter the passkey. (GP.175)

If the passkey input screen appears on the destination device before appearing on the camera, enter the passkey on the destination device, and then enter the same passkey on the camera.
