If you are using the camera for the first time, read this section.

Charging the Rechargeable Battery (sold separately)

The rechargeable battery needs to be charged before use.

1 Insert the battery, making sure that the and markings on the battery match those on the battery charger.

• The battery label should face up.

Be careful not to reverse the and sides.

2 Connect the electrical power cord to the battery charger and then plug the power cord into an outlet.

•Use the battery charger (BJ-2e) to recharge the battery.

•Charging starts, and the charger lamp indicates the progress, as shown below.

Once charging has finished, unplug the power cable from the power outlet.

Lit green	Charging complete
Flashing	Battery charger or battery may be faulty (unplug the battery
	charger from the power outlet and remove the battery from
	the battery charger).

•Depending on the battery level, the charging time differs.
