Entering Characters Using T9 TextInput
T9 TextInputlets you enter text in your phone by pressing
keys justonce per letter. (To selectthe T9 Word mode when
entering text, see “Selecting a Character InputMode”on
page 43.)
T9 TextInputanalyzes the letters you enter using an intuitive
word database and creates a suitable word. (The word may
change as you type.)
To enter a word using T9 TextInput:
1. Selectthe T9 Wordcharacter inputmode.

2. Press the corresponding keys once per letter to enter
aword. (For example, to enter the word “Bill,”press
.) (If you makeamistake, press
toerase a single character. Press and hold to erase an
entireword.)
To accepta word and inserta space, press or

Tip: When entering text, press Shift*to change the capitalization
style (Abc > ABC > abc).
Note: PresetMessages, RecentMessages, and Emoticons are
available only when composing textmessages.
