The following is an alphabetical list of specialized words and technical terms with their definitions, commonly used in the tape drive and tape media industry.

AC | Alternating Current. |
Access | (v.) To read, write, or update information on a storage medium, |

Access Time | The interval between the time a request for data is made by the |
