This dryer is manufa ctur ed ready to install with a 3-wire
elect rical suppl y conn ection. The neut ral gr ound co nduc tor is
permanently connected to the neutral conductor (white wire)
with in the dry er. If the dry er is installed with a 4-w ir e electrical
supply connection, the neutral ground conductor must be
remove d fro m the ex ternal gr ou n d con ne ct or (gr een sc re w ),
and secured under the neutral terminal (center or white wire)
of the ter mi nal block. When the neutra l ground conductor is
secured under the neutral t ermin al (center or white wire) of
the terminal block, the dryer cabinet is isolated from the
neu tr al conductor.
If local cod es do not per mi t the co nnec tion of a n eut ra l

A 4-wire power supply connection must be us ed when the
appliance i s ins talle d in a location where groundin g through
th e neut ra l conductor is pr oh ibi te d. Gr ounding through t he
neutral is prohibited for (1) new branch-circuit installations,
(2) mobile homes, (3) recreational veh icles, and (4) areas
where local codes prohibit grounding through the neutral

le a s t 4 ft (1.22 m) lon g. T he w ires that co nnect t o the drye r
mu st end in ring terminals or spade terminals with upturned
ends.
A UL listed strain relief.
Then choose a 4-wire power supp ly cor d with ring or spade
terminals and UL listed strain relief. The 4-wir e power supply
wir e s and ma t ch a 4-w ire re ce p tac le of NE M A Type 14 -30R . The
neu tral conductor must be ident ified by a white cov er.
Then choose a 3-wire power supp ly cor d with ring or spade
terminals and UL listed strain relief. The 3-wir e power supply
wir e s and match a 3-w ire r e ceptacle of NEM A Type 10-30 R.
Pow er sup pl y cabl e m u st ma tc h pow er su p ply (4- w ir e or 3-wi r e
