-Allow the appliance to heat up for approx. 1 minute after you have applied 5 consecutive “shots” of steam. This prevents water dripping from the soleplate.

“Auto off” (automatic safety shut-off) (type HI 342)
•The iron has an electronic safety device which switches off the heating element automatically if the iron is left motionless for a while. When the iron is first connected to the mains, this will happen after 2 minutes.
-To indicate that the iron has shut off, the red “Auto off” pilot light (O) will blink after 30 seconds in a horizontal position or 8 minutes in a vertical position (fig.11).
-Pick up the iron or move it lightly to heat it up again. The red “Auto off” pilot light (O) will go off. The amber temperature pilot light (I) will come on. When the amber pilot light is off, the iron is ready for use.
-To prevent water dripping from the soleplate in horizontal resting position, set the steam control dial to position O or stand the iron on its end if the appliance is left unattended for a while.
