Operating The Grill
Make sure all burner controls are off. Do not attempt to light the burners if the smell of gas is present.
For propane grills, check the connection with a soap and water solution after attaching the hose. Make sure there is gas in the tank and it is sitting upright.
1.Make sure the drip tray is in place.
2.Light the grill burners using the instructions below.
3.Turn the control knob to HI and preheat the grill for 15 minutes. The top cover should be closed during the preheat period.
4.Place the food on the grill and cook to the desired doneness. Adjust heat setting, if necessary. The control knob may be set to any position between HI and LOW.
5.When using the IR main burner, be sure to allow it to be fully preheated to a bright red glow prior to placing food products on the cooking grate.
6.With the intense temperatures that the IR burner reaches, it is highly recommended that the grill hood be kept in the open position while it is in use.
7.When cooking on the IR main burner has been completed (SA & IA models) and the burner is turned off, make sure no food is left on the grate above the IR burner so no drippings will fall into the cooled burner ports.
8.To ensure quality performance of your IR Burner, be sure to run it on high for 10 minutes after your food has been removed at the end of cooking, to keep the burner ports clear
9.Allow the grill to cool and clean the drip tray after each use.
