Accessing IS-III
approximately 2 KB of memory on the hard disk of the Master Controller. For example, if your system stores approximately 90 minutes (that is, 5,400 seconds) of voice messages daily, your hard disk must have at least 11 MB of available space. The amount of available space required is determined by the following calculations:
1 second of a voice message is approximately 2 KB of hard disk memory
Available Space Required = amount of voice messages (sec) * 2 KB
For this example:
—Your system stores an average of 90 minutes of voice messages daily.
—90 minutes of voice messages = 5,400 seconds
—5,400 seconds * 2 KB = 10,800 KB
—1,000 KB = 1 MB
—10,800 KB = 10.8 MB
—Your system requires approximately 11 MB of available space on the hard disk of the Master Controller for AUDIX Voice Power.
Every page of a stored fax message translates to approximately 50 KB of memory on the hard disk of the Master Controller. For example, if your system stores approximately 150 pages of fax messages daily, your hard disk must have at least 8 MB of available space. The amount of available space required is determined by the following calculations:
1 page of a fax message is approximately 50 KB of hard disk memory
Available space required = # of fax pages stored (sec) * 50 KB
For this example:
—Your system stores an average of 150 pages of fax messages daily.
—150 pages * 50 KB = 7,500 KB
—1,000 KB = 1 MB
—7,500 KB = 7.5 MB
—Your system requires approximately 8 MB of available space on the hard disk of the Master Controller for FAX Attendant.
