Description

Use this command to enable or disable the switch to interoperate with some legacy Cisco switches.

 

For some switches, the MSTP field Version 3 Length does not adhere to the current standards.

Usage

If Cisco interoperability is required on any switch in the network, then all switches in the network

Guidelines

must be compatible, and therefore enabled using this command for interoperability with a Cisco

 

switch.

 

Examples

To enable Cisco interoperability on a switch:

 

switch#configure terminal

 

switch(config)#protocol spanning-tree mstp

 

switch(conf-mstp)#cisco-interoperability enable

 

To disable Cisco interoperability on a switch:

 

switch#configure terminal

 

switch(config)#protocol spanning-tree mstp

 

switch(conf-mstp)#cisco-interoperability disable
