Faxing Problems

Sending Problems

You cannot send a fax.

QIs the machine overheated?

AUnplug the machine and let it cool for approximate 3 minutes to 5 minutes. Then plug in the machine and try sending again.

QDid you connect the power cord to the machine just now?

AWait for a while. After connecting the power cord, the machine cannot scan documents immediately.

QIs the machine set for the correct telephone line type (pulse/tone)?

AMake sure the machine is set for the correct telephone line type. (See “Setting the Telephone Line Type,” on p. 3-5.)

QIs the document loaded?

ARemove the document, stack it if necessary, and load it in the ADF correctly.

QIs the One-Touch Speed Dial button or Coded Speed Dialing code you entered registered for the feature you want to use?

ACheck the One-Touch Speed Dial button or Coded Speed Dialing code and make sure it is registered correctly. (See Chapter 5, “Speed Dialing.”)

QDid you dial a correct number? Or have you been provided with an incorrect number?

ADial the number again, or check that you have the correct number.

QDoes the other party’s fax machine have enough paper?

ACall the other party and ask them to make sure paper is loaded in their fax machine.
