The following explanation, pages 114 to 117, is about the Terminal Equipment (hardware modem) embedded in CASSIOPEIA FIVA series (models with the modem) and described by following the rules. The Terminal Equipment is operable and compliant with the regulations in the United States and Canada only.

For users of CASSIOPEIA FIVA series resident in other countries and some models that do not embed the Terminal Equipment (models without the modem), the description and the instruction of the equipment are not applicable.

Using the Terminal Equipment MBH7MD23-8556CA

MBH7MD23-8556CAis a hardware modem designed for being embedded in small personal computers such as a notebook computer.

About the actual operation and setting of hardware and software, refer to the user operation manual of the products which have an embed MBH7MD23-8556CA.

For users in the United States

This equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules. On the back side of this equipment is a label that contains, among other information, the FCC registration number and ringer equivalence number (REN) for this equipment. If requested, this information must be provided to the telephone company.

USOC Jack,RJ11C is available to this equipment.

An FCC compliant telephone cord and modular plug is provided with this equipment. This equipment is designed to be connected to the telephone network or premises wiring using a compatible modular jack which is Part 68 compliant. See Installation Instructions for details.

The REN is used to determine the quantity of devices which may be connected to the telephone line. Excessive RENs on the telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In most, but not all areas, the sum of RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To be certain of the number of devices that may be connected to a line, as determined by the total RENs, contact the local telephone company.
