Replacing the Chassis Air Filter
Follow these steps to replace an air filter:
Step1 If the accessory grill has been installed on the front of the CiscoASR 9010 Router, remove it from the
front of the chassis by simply pulling on the grill until it comes loose. See the Installing Base Chassis
Accessories on the Cisco ASR 9010 Router, page2-61, and Figure 2-56 for information about the
accessory grill.
Step2 For the Cisco ASR 9010 Router, remove the air filter by simply sliding it out of the chassis (Figure 5-1).

Step3 For the CiscoASR 9006 Router and Cisco ASR 9904 Router loosen the thumb screw that secures the
filter to the chassis, and then slide the air filter out of the chassis (Figure5-2).

Cisco ASR 9010 Router Located underneath the fan trays (Figure5-1).
Cisco ASR 9006 Router Located along the right side of the chassis and is accessible from the rear
(Figure 5-2).
Cisco ASR 9904 Router Single air filter located along the right side of the chassis and is accessible
from the rear (Figure 5-3).
Cisco ASR 9922 Router Three air filters located on the front of the middle card cage (Figure 5-4).
Cisco ASR 9912 Router Three air filters on the front of the RP and FC card cage (Figure5-6).
