7Replace the system cover. See "Closing the System" on page 58.

8Place the system upright on a flat, stable surface.

9Reattach any peripherals and connect the system to an electrical outlet.

10Turn on the system and attached peripherals.

11Enter the System Setup program and ensure that the hard drive’s controller is enabled. See"Entering the System Setup Program" on page 36.

12Exit the System Setup program and reboot the system.

13Partition and logically format the drive.

See the documentation that came with the drive for instructions on installing any software required for drive operation.

Removing a Hard Drive from a Hard-Drive Bracket

Detach the hard-drive bracket from the hard drive by pushing out at the edges of the bracket and removing the hard drive. See Figure 3-11.
