ICM Method

The ICM Method setting specifies how to print your color graphics. The following options are available.

Disabled is the default setting.

ICM Handled by Host Systemcauses the calculations for color matching to be performed on the host computer before it sends the document to the printer.

ICM Handled by Printer calculates the color matching on your printer. In this case, a set of rules for mapping the colors is created and downloaded to the printer (which must be PostScript level 2 emulation or higher). The printer uses these rules to adjust colors in the document.

ICM Intent

This control specifies how color images are created to produce the best looking image on the printed page. The following options are available.

Graphics is the best setting to use if you are printing a chart or using fully saturated, bright colors.

Pictures is the default setting. Use this setting to maximize the contrast for photographs or pictures where the colors blend together.

Proof is the setting to use if your document uses a color that you need to match exactly, and you are sending the document to a printer that has that specific color of ink.

Match allows you to preview the color settings from another printer.

Advanced Printing Features

When the Advanced Printing Features setting is Enabled, metafile spooling is turned on and Finishing-tab options such as Page Order, Booklet Layout, and Pages per Sheet are available, depending on your printer. For normal printing, leave the Advanced Printing Features setting at the default (Enabled). If compatibility problems occur, you can disable the feature. When disabled, metafile spooling is turned off and the printing options might be unavailable.
