Replacing the Power Supply Unit

WARNING Hewlett-Packard does not support power supply upgrades. This information is provided to help you replace a defective power supply unit. For your safety, only replace with a power supply provided by HP support services.

To avoid electrical shock, do not open the power supply. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.

1Switch off the PC and remove the main cover.

2Lay the PC on its side.

3Release the power supply cables from the cable clamp situated under the floppy drive unit.

4Press down the retaining clip at the top of the power supply unit, and holding the unit carefully, rotate it upwards.

5Push the second retaining clip outwards and lift the power supply unit out of the PC and lay it by the underside of the PC, not beside the front panel.

6Disconnect all power cables from installed drives and from the system board.
