Cell Board Instant Capacity

Accidental Activation of an Instant Capacity Cell Board

Accidental Activation of an Instant Capacity

Cell Board

If you inadvertently activate an Instant Capacity cell board, you can

de-activate it by following this two step procedure:

Step

1. Set the cell board’s use-on-next-bootflag to “n” (no) using the

parmodify command

Step

2. Perform a reboot of the nPartition

Example 6-4

De-activating a cell board in cabinet 0, slot 5, nPartition 3

For example, changing the use-on-next-bootflag to “n” on the Instant

Capacity cell board in cabinet 0, slot 5, in nPartition 3 can be

accomplished via the following command:

/usr/sbin/parmodify -p 3 -m 0/5::n:

The “n” in the above command line sets the cell board’s

use-on-next-bootflag to “no” and causes the cell board to not

participate in the nPartition when it is booted.

See the HP System Partitions Guide for details about adding and

configuring cells in nPartitions.
