Acquiring and Configuring Temporary Instant

Capacity

To add temporary capacity to a system that contains Instant Capacity processors, follow this procedure:

Step 1. Order the desired amount of temporary capacity for your type of server by submitting a purchase order to HP. You must specify the system serial number.

After you purchase an amount of temporary capacity, HP sends you a letter that contains details on how to acquire a temporary capacity codeword license and apply it to the system that will utilize temporary capacity.

Step 2. Acquire the temporary capacity codeword from the Utility Pricing Solutions portal (http://www.hp.com/go/icod/portal)

Step 3. Apply the temporary capacity codeword using the icod_modify -Ccommand:

The following valid codeword has been applied to the complex:

Execute the icod_stat(1M) command to see the results of the application of this codeword.

NOTE

As with all codewords, you must apply codewords in the same sequence

 

as they are obtained.
