Dual-Port Serial PIM

The Dual-Port Serial PIM (Figure 28 on page 55) provides a physical connection to serial network media types through two serial interface ports.

The Dual-Port Serial PIM provides the following key features:

Onboard network processor

Autoselection of operation modes based on data terminal equipment (DTE) or data communication equipment (DCE) cables

Local and remote loopback diagnostics

Configurable clock rate for the transmit (Tx) clock and receive (Rx) clock

Status LEDs indicate port status. Table 25 on page 55 describes the meaning of the LED states.
