When Margin Display is set to TIA Margin Display, marginally passing test results (those for which the passing value falls within the Scanner’s accuracy range) are marked with “*PASS”. When Margin Display is set to ACR Margin Check, a cable will pass if a failing NEXT test result is within the Scanner’s accuracy range AND if the ACR result is within an acceptable range. When Margin Display is set to None, the only possible Autotest results are “PASS” or “FAIL”.

In the Autotest memory list screen, the test status can be “P” (PASS) or “F” (FAIL), or if the Autotest was run with Margin Display set to TIA, “*” (MARGINAL PASS).

After editing, press Save (F1) to store the new Autotest name and exit or press the ESCAPE key to exit.

Selecting Pairs for Autotest

To display the EDIT AUTOTEST PAIRS screen, press the Extended Functions key, then select Setup Autotest, then highlight the Autotest to edit, then press Edit (F2); then select Pairs. This screen lets you select which pairs to test and which pairs to use as PASS/FAIL criteria.

The top row indicates the pairs to be tested during Autotest. The bottom row indicates the pairs that will determine the PASS/FAIL criteria for the cable. Press the or arrow key to move left or right within the rows. Or, press the or arrow key to move between rows.

Press Select (F2) (or Unsel) to select (or deselect) the pair. Selected tests are marked with an ‘x’.

Press Save (F1) to store the pair selections and exit or press the ESCAPE key to exit without saving.

Note: If a pair is selected for PASS/FAIL criteria, but is not selected for testing, all tests will fail. If a pair is selected for testing but is not selected for PASS/FAIL criteria, the Autotest will not be marked as FAIL if that pair fails.

Selecting Tests to Run During Autotest

To display the EDIT TESTS TO RUN screen, press the Extended Functions key, then select Setup Autotest, then highlight the Autotest to edit, then press Edit (F2), then select Tests to Run. This screen lets you enable or disable the tests to run during Autotest. When using the 2- Way Injector+ or 2-Way Injector, you can run tests at the Scanner or Injector end of the link.

Press the or arrow key to highlight the test(s) to enable or disable.

Press Select (F2) (or Unsel) to enable (or disable) the highlighted test. Enabled tests are marked with an ‘x’.

After all test selections have been made, press Save (F1) to save the list of selected tests for this Autotest.

Press the ESCAPE key to exit the screen without saving.

Note: ACR will not be computed unless the NEXT and Attenuation tests are enabled (since ACR computations are based on NEXT and Attenuation measurements). The Scanner will automatically disable ACR if NEXT or Attenuation is not enabled.
