To turn the copier on

Set the power switch to “I”.

When the copier is turned on

1The indicator on the [Start] key lights up in orange.

A screen indicating that the machine is starting up appears.

2After a few seconds, the message “Now warming-up. Ready to scan.” appears on the touch panel. When the indicator on the [Start] key lights up in green, a job can be queued.

Queuing a job during warm-up

An image can be scanned (a job can be queued) while the machine warms up after it is turned on. If a job is queued, printing begins after the copier has fin- ished warming up (after about 5 minutes at normal room temperature (68°F)).

Auto Panel Reset

The machine automatically resets all modes and functions to their default set- tings if one minute has passed without the machine performing any operations.

If the magnetic card is removed from the optional data controller, the machine assumes that the user has changed and automatically resets all modes and functions to their default settings.

When the touch panel is reset, all settings that have not been stored, such as the number of copies, return to their default settings (p. 1-20).
