Performing a Full Installation of Windows NT Server 3.51
To install Windows NT Server 3.51, follow these steps:
1.Insert the Windows NT Server Setup Boot Disk into the flex disk drive. Power on the system.
2.You are next prompted to insert the Windows NT Server Setup Disk 2. Insert the disk and press Enter.
Entering Windows Setup
To enter Windows Setup and proceed, follow these steps:
1.Setup prompts you to setup Windows now. To setup Windows now, press Enter.
2.You are prompted to select whether you want to perform an Express Setup or a Custom Setup. Press [C] to select an Custom Setup.
3.Select [S] to skip Mass Storage Device Detection.
4.Select [S] to specify additional SCSI adapters.
5.Select Other when presented with a list of SCSI devices.
6.When prompted, insert the Adaptec 7800 Family Manager disk V1.21L or greater for Microsoft Windows NT. Press Enter.
7.Select the following:
Adaptec
8.Verify that Setup recognizes the Adaptec 7880.
9.Select [S] to specify additional SCSI adapters. Otherwise, press Enter.
Note: If the unit is configured with a Mylex DAC 960PL PCI RAID Adapter, you must use the software drivers on the DAC960 Software Kit disk Version 1.04. Do not use the drivers on the install CD.
