1. General Function
The PA-16ELCJ (ELC) circuit card provides an interface between the Dterm and the IPX. Depending on the

switch settings, this card works in the following two modes.

16 ELC mode: A maximum of 16 sets of Dterms can be connected to thi s card. (v oice communicati ons

only)

8 DL C mode: A ma xi mu m of ei g ht se ts o f D terms can be connected to this card. (s imultaneous voice

and dat a communications)

There are two different kinds of firmware EPROMs are located on the PA-16ELCJ (ELC) circuit card. SP-

3295 1 6EL CJ PROG-B provides the ful l perfo rmanc e inte rface fo r D term Series E, and SP-3270 16ELCJ

PROG-A provides Dterm Series III interface. The following table shows the Dterm performance depending

on each fir mw are EP ROM.
