Replacing the SECC Version

1.Power off the system and remove the left side panel as described earlier in this chapter.

2.Press the processor latches toward the center of the SEC cartridge to free them from the retention module, Item A in Figure "Removing a Processor" below.

3.Lift the SEC cartridge upward, out of the retention module and place it on a grounded, static-free surface or conductive foam pad.

4.Remove the two clips that secure the heat sink to the old processor, see Figure "Processor heat Sink Assembly" below.

5.Remove the heat sink and thermal pad from the top of the old processor, see Figure "Processor heat Sink Assembly" below.

6.Put the old processor in a piece of conductive foam and store in an antistatic package.
