Console Redirection Submenu

These settings in the Console Redirection Submenu of the Server menu must be set exactly as noted to be able to use the EMP.

COM Port Address: Select 2F8. This is the COM 2 port that must be used by the EMP. The IRQ# setting automatically populates with the correct number based on the COM Port Address choice.

Baud Rate: Select appropriate speed.

Console Type: Choose PC ANSI.

Flow Control: Choose CTS/RTS + CD.

Main EMP Window

The main EMP window provides a graphical user interface (GUI) to access server control operations and to launch the management plug-ins from. At the top of the GUI is the menu and tool bar. These provide the options to initiate plug-ins and other support features. A status bar at the bottom displays connection information like server name, line status, and mode.

Toolbar

The tool bar buttons of the EMP main window combine server control and management plug-in options available from the Connect and Action menus as follows:

Generates the Connect dialog to allow connection to a selected server.

Disconnects from the server currently connected to.

Generates the Power On/Off dialog.

Generates the Reset dialog.

Launches the SEL viewer.

Launches the SDR viewer.

Launches the FRU viewer.

Opens the phonebook.

Opens the online help.
