Operation methods

Playback using VTR1, VTR2

Analog component signals, analog composite signals and serial component digital signals can be played back and output using VTR1 and VTR2.

1 Set the OPERATION MODE mode switch (page

13) to SEPARATE.

2 Select AUTO as the setup menu item No.013 (PB FORMAT) setting. If MANU has been selected, select the setup menu item No.012 (SYS FORMAT) setting which matches the format of the tape to be played back.

3 Select “525” or “625” as the setup menu item No.070 (TV SYSTEM) setting to match the tape to be played back.

<Notes>

O When the “525” or “625” setting has been changed, turn off the power and then turn it back on again.

O VTR1 and VTR2 cannot be set to different TV systems.

4 When analog video signals are to be output, select whether analog component signals or analog composite signals are to be output using setup menu item No.670 (V IN SEL).

5 When serial component digital signals are to be output, select the VTR for SDI output using setup menu item No.174 (SDI OUT). (Either VTR1 or VTR2 is selected as the VTR since there is only one SDI output system.)

6 Set the ANALOG AUDIO OUT switch and connect the signals to the rear panel connectors as described on page 27.

7 If necessary, input the reference video signal to the REF VIDEO IN connector, and use the encoder control on the side panel to perform the encoder and/or system adjustments. (See page 23)

8 Select the VTR using the VTR1 or VTR2 button, and press the PLAY button.

9 To stop playback, select the VTR whose playback is to be stopped, and press the STOP ([SHIFT] + [PLAY]) button.

Playback can also be stopped by pressing the FF button and REW button at the same time.

VTR2 stops when the ALL STOP button is pressed.
