Preparing tapes for editing

Recording editing titles (characters and symbols)

Characters and symbols can be superimposed onto the video signals (black burst signals) and recorded for about 7 seconds after the start of 1ST EDIT, but this can be done only in the 525i mode.

Recording the editing titles, editing dates, equipment numbers and other such information makes it easier to do post-editing work and conduct searches at a later date.

1 Align the cursor with setup menu item No.379 (1ST-E TITLE), and press the STILL button to display the character input screen.

2 Press the SHIFT button.

The cursor now flashes at the position where the characters can be input.

3 While holding the SHIFT button down, select a character by pressing the “+” or “–” button.

4 While holding the SHIFT button down, move the character input position by pressing the “FF” or “REW” button.

5 Repeat steps 3 and 4 to input more characters.

6 Upon completion of the character input, release the SHIFT button, and press the STILL button to exit the character input screen.

7 Select ON as the setup menu item No.380 (1ST-E DISP) setting.

8 Proceed with 1ST EDIT.
