Sending (DUMP) and loading (LOAD) edit data to an external component
The edit data stored in the EDL memory can be sent to and loaded from an external component using the EDL connector on the unit’s rear panel.
Outputting data to a computer, for instance, and loading data from a computer enables a wide range of systems to be run and managed in the following ways.
O Data can be edited
O The edit data can be stored on a hard disk or floppy disk.
O The edit data can be checked by displaying it on a computer monitor or by printing it out.

1 Set the communication parameters and format of the data to be output using the INTERFACE setup menu.
2 Set up the computer or other external component so that it is ready to receive data.
3 Press the DUMP ([SHIFT] + [1]) button.
The VTR2 button LED flashes, and the number of the event which is being sent is indicated on the event number display lamps.
4 Dumping is completed when all the edit data inside the EDL memory has been sent. To stop dumping at any time, press the ALL STOP button.
<Notes>
O Dumping is not possible if the CONTROL switch has been set to the REMOTE or EXT VTR position.
O To execute dumping, the communication parameters, etc. of the computer or other external component must also be set.
