Switching the auxiliary setting
Auxiliaryequipments connected tothis unit
canbe activated individually. Set each AUX
sourceto ON when using. About connecting
orusing auxiliary equipments, refer to Using
theAUX source on page 98.
1 UseMULTI-CONTROL to select AUX1/
AUX2.
AUX1/AUX2appears in the display.
2 PressMULTI-CONTROL to turn AUX1/
AUX2on.
ONappears in the display.
#Toturn AUX off, press MULTI-CONTROL
again.
Switching the dimmer setting
Toprevent the display from being too bright at
night,the display is automatically dimmed
whenthe car s headlights are turned on. You
canturn the dimmer on or off.
1 UseMULTI-CONTROL to select Dimmer.
Dimmerappears in the display.
2 PressMULTI-CONTROL to turn dimmer
on.
ONappears in the display.
#Toturn dimmer off, press MULTI-CONTROL
again.
Adjusting the brightness
Youcan adjust the display brightness. Initially
thismode is set to 24.
1 UseMULTI-CONTROL to select
Brightness.
Brightnessappears in the display.
2 PushMULTI-CONTROL left or right to
adjustthe brightness level.
Eachtime MULTI-CONTROL is pushed left or
right,brightness level increases or decreases.
0to31 is displayed as the level is increased or
decreased.
#Whendimmer is functioning, the brightness
levelcan be adjusted 0to 21.
Correcting distorted sound
Whenlistening to a CD or other source on
whichthe recording level is high, setting the
equalizercurve level to high mayresult in dis-
tortion.You can switch the digital attenuator
tolow to reduce distortion.
!Soundquality is better at the high setting
sothis setting is usually used.
1 UseMULTI-CONTROL to select
DigitalATT.
DigitalATT appears in the display.
2 PressMULTI-CONTROL to select the di-
gitalattenuator level.
PressingMULTI-CONTROL repeatedly will
switchbetween High (high) and Low (low)
andthat status will be displayed.
Switching the soundmuting/attenuation
Soundfrom this system is muted or attenu-
atedautomatically when the signal from the
equipmentwith mute function is received.
!Thesound is muted or attenuated, MUTE
orAT T aredisplayed and no audio adjust-
mentis possible.
!Soundfrom this system returns to normal
whenthe muting or attenuation is can-
celed.
