Selecting a source
Youcan select a source you want to listen to.
Toswitch to the built-in CD player, load a disc
inthe unit (refer to page 22).
%PressSOURCE to select a source.

!Inthe following cases, the sound source will
notchange:
—Whenthere is no unit corresponding to the
selectedsource connected to this unit.
—Whenthere is no disc in the unit.
—Whenthere is no disc in the DVD player.
—Whenthere is no magazine in the multi-
CDplayer.
—Whenthere is no magazine in the multi-
DVDplayer.
—Whenthe AUX (auxiliary input) is set to off
(referto page 94).
—Whenthe BT Audio sourceis set to off
(referto Activating the BT Audio sourceon
page96).
!Externalunit refers to a Pioneer product (such
asone available in the future) that, although
incompatibleas a source, enables control of
basicfunctions by this unit. Two external units
canbe controlled by this unit. When two exter-
nalunits are connected, the allocation of
themto external unit 1 or external unit 2 is
automaticallyset by this unit.
!Whenthis unit’s blue/white lead is connected
tothe vehicle’s auto-antenna relay control
terminal,the vehicle’s antenna extends when
thisunit’s source is turned on. To retract the
antenna,turn the source off.
Loading a disc
1 PressEJECT to open the front panel.
CDloading slot appears.
#Aftera CD has been inserted, press SOURCE
toselect the built-in CD player.
2 Inserta CD into the CD loading slot.
Frontpanel is closed automatically, and play-
backwill start.
!Withjacket art function on, jacket arts on
CD-ROMdisc are automatically read in this
unitwhen the disc is inserted. To cancel
readingjacket arts, press BAND. For de-
tails,refer to Reading jacket arts on page 32.
CDloading slot
#Youcan eject a CD by pressing EJECT.
Notes
!Thebuilt-in CD player plays one standard, 12-
cmor 8-cm CD at a time. Do not use an adap-
terwhen playing 8-cm CDs.
!Donot insert anything other than a CD into
theCD loading slot.
