rearspeaker balance moves from front to rear.
#Front/Rear0 is the proper setting when only
twospeakers are used.
3 PushMULTI-CONTROL left or right to
adjustleft/right speaker balance.
Eachtime MULTI-CONTROL is pushed left or
right,the left/right speaker balance moves to-
wardsthe left or right.
Left25 to Right 25 is displayed as the left/
rightspeaker balance moves from left to
right.
Using the time alignment
Thetime alignment lets you adjust the dis-
tancebetween each speaker and the listening
position.
1 UseMULTI-CONTROL to select
TAMode.
TAMode appears in the display.
2 PushMULTI-CONTROL left or right to
selectthe time alignment.
Eachtime MULTI-CONTROL is pushed left or
right,time alignment is selected in the follow-
ingorder:
Initial(initial)Custom (custom)Auto TA
(auto-timealignment)OFF (off)
!Initialis the factory supplied time align-
ment.
!Customis an adjusted time alignment that
youcan create for yourself.
!AutoTA is the time alignment created by
autoTA and EQ. (Refer to Auto TA and EQ
(auto-timealignment and auto-equalizing)
onpage 89.)
#Pleaseset Auto TA appears. This indicates
thatyou cannot select Auto TA if auto TA and EQ
hasnot been carried out.

Adjusting the time alignment

Youcan adjust the distance between each
speakerand the selected position.
!Anadjusted time alignment is memorized
inCustom.
1 UseMULTI-CONTROL to select
TAMode.
TAMode appears in the display.
2 PressMULTI-CONTROL to select a unit
ofdistance.
Eachpress of MULTI-CONTROL selects the
unitof distance in the following order:
inch(inch)cm (centimeter)
3 UseMULTI-CONTROL to select
TimeAlignment.
TimeAlignment appears in the display.
#Can'tadjust TA. Set position FL/FR appears
whenneither Front Left nor Front Right is se-
lectedin the position selector mode (Position).
#Whenselecting OFF in TA Mode, you cannot
switchto Time Alignment.
4 PushMULTI-CONTROL left or right to
selectthe speaker to be adjusted.
Eachtime MULTI-CONTROL is pushed left or
right,the speaker is selected in the following
