Whena subwoofer is connected to this
unit,it will be adjusted automatically to
bothsubwoofer output and high pass fil-
tersetting for rear speaker.
!Ifyou carr y out auto TAand EQ when a pre-
vioussetting of this already exists, the set-
tingwill be replaced.
Carrying out auto TAand EQ
CAUTION
Neveruse the microphone for hands-free phon-
ingto operate the auto TA and EQ. Using the mi-
crophoneunfit for the auto TA and EQ may
damagethe speaker. Be sure to connect the
AUTOTA&EQ microphone into the microphone
inputjack.
1 Stopthe car in a place that is as quiet
aspossible, close all doors, windows and
thesun roof, and then turn the engine off.
Ifthe engine is left running, engine noise may
preventcorrect auto TA and EQ.
2 Fixthe supplied microphone in the cen-
terof the headrest of the drivers seat, fa-
cingforward, using the belt (sold
separately).
Theauto TA and EQ may differ depending on
whereyou place the microphone. If desired,
placethe microphone on the front passenger
seatto carry out auto TA and EQ.
3 Turnthe ignition switch to ON or ACC.
Ifthe car s air conditioner or heater is turned
on,turn it off. Noise from the fan in the air
conditioneror heater may prevent correct auto
TAand EQ.
#PressSOURCE to turn the source on if this
unitis turned off.
4 Selectthe position for the seat on
whichthe microphone is placed.

81.
#Ifno position is selected before you start auto
TAand EQ, Front Left is selected automatically.
5 PressSOURCE and hold until the unit
turnsoff.
Ifanything is connected to the microphone
inputjack, disconnect it.
6 Pressand hold EQ to enter the autoTA
andEQ measurement mode.
7 Plugthe microphone into the micro-
phoneinput jack on this unit.
